College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala Organizes a Seminar on Stimulating Field Crop Seeds and Enhancing Productivity

The Department of Field Crops at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a seminar titled “Stimulating Field Crop Seeds and Innovative Strategies for Increasing Productivity.”
The session was presented by the student Huda Waheed Jabbar under the supervision of Dr. Abbas Ali Hussein Al-Aamery.
The seminar covered scientific topics focusing on methods of seed stimulation using fertilizers, chemicals, plant hormones, and laser radiation treatment techniques.
It also discussed modern approaches that enhance seed germination capacity and accelerate dormancy breaking.
The student explained that seed stimulation improves seed tolerance to drought, salinity, and high temperatures.
She highlighted the physiological and chemical effects of plant hormones and their role in improving seed vigor.
The seminar emphasized that these methods represent an important step toward sustainable agriculture that achieves higher productivity with reduced inputs.
