The University of Kerbala hosted the Third International Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences, organized by the College of Agriculture under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, under the supervision of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and the follow-up of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Kareem, under the slogan “The Role of Sustainable Agriculture in Confronting Climate Challenges and Enhancing Food Security.”
The conference was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Jassim Al-Maamouri, the Chairman of the Karbala Provincial Council, Mr. Qasim Al-Yassari, in addition to a wide group of academics and researchers from inside and outside Iraq.
The conference included the presentation of a number of specialized scientific research papers that discussed the latest developments and technologies in the fields of agricultural sciences, with the participation of researchers from local and international universities and research centers, reflecting the growing interest in developing the agricultural sector and addressing current climate challenges.
The conference organizers emphasized the importance of strengthening international scientific cooperation and exchanging research expertise, given its direct role in supporting food security and developing modern agricultural technologies, as well as opening new horizons for future research partnerships.
This conference comes within the efforts of the University of Kerbala to consolidate its scientific standing and enhance its role in serving the community by supporting applied research that contributes to finding practical solutions to the problems facing the agricultural sector, in line with the sustainable development goals in Iraq.
