The Department of Food Sciences at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, held a joint workshop with stakeholder representatives to review and update the vision, mission, and objectives in accordance with academic accreditation standards.

The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Karim, the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, as well as representatives from several labor market–related institutions, in addition to the department’s faculty members.

The workshop aimed to align the department’s outcomes with labor market requirements and scientific developments. Emphasis was placed on strengthening research collaboration and practical training for students. The department’s vision was maintained, while agreement was reached to develop the mission statement and update the objectives to include curriculum development, enhancement of the practical component, and support for research in the fields of food quality and safety.

The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the department and stakeholders in order to achieve high-quality academic performance and serve the community.
