The Department of Field Crops at the College of Agriculture participated in the Green Day Festival, held to promote environmental awareness and spread a culture of environmental preservation, on [23-4-2025] within the college premises.
This participation was directly supervised by Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Nazem Farhoud, Head of the Department of Field Crops. The department presented a variety of awareness activities and educational displays highlighting the importance of sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and the role of plants in air purification and mitigating climate change.
The event also featured an exhibition showcasing models of field crops grown using environmentally friendly techniques, along with the distribution of educational brochures to students and visitors, aimed at reinforcing environmental concepts and linking them to modern agricultural practices.
Attendees praised the active participation of the Department of Field Crops, emphasizing the importance of promoting such initiatives that integrate environmental education with agricultural practices within an academic and community framework.
