Students of the Department of Food Science Organize a Scientific Field Trip to Al-Hussain State Mill in Karbala

Third-year students from the Department of Food Science at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a scientific field trip to the Grain Processing Directorate / Al-Hussain State Mill in Karbala. The visit was conducted as part of the requirements of the Grain Processing course and under the supervision of the department’s instructors.

The visit aimed to enhance the students’ practical skills through direct observation of the grain processing stages, starting from the reception, cleaning, and sorting of grains, followed by milling, sieving, and packaging operations. Students also learned about the equipment and production lines used in the mill.

The trip included a tour of the mill’s laboratory to observe the devices used in performing physical and chemical tests on products, contributing to strengthening the students’ applied understanding.
