Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Karim, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture organized an in-person workshop entitled “Global Warming and Its Effects on Natural Resources.”
The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of global warming and its main causes related to human and natural activities.
The workshop included the following themes:
1- Explaining the impact of rising temperatures on natural resources such as water, soil, and forests, and clarifying the relationship between climate change and the degradation of natural resources at both the local and global levels.
2- Identifying the impact of global warming on the reduction of water resources and the increase in cases of drought and desertification.
3- Raising participants’ awareness of the importance of protecting natural resources and rationalizing their consumption.
4- Strengthening the role of society and institutions in reducing the causes of global warming.
5- Proposing sustainable environmental solutions to preserve natural resources for future generations.
